Just Lots of Photos!

Haven't posted in awhile so tho't I'd just do one with lots of photos from my outings to Camas and Market Lake.  Mostly birds but a few other animals too.

Let's start off with the Burrowing Owls -

The Great Horned Owls

The Coots had babies - they're pretty - - - Unique looking.  Yeah.  Unique.

One day at Camas I was lucky to catch the Sandhill Cranes right by the road.  And yes - I am THAT close!!

There are lots of Eared Grebes up to Camas

They've finally had babies and you can find the babies hitching a ride on the back of a parent -

Black Crowned Night Herons

There's a Pied-billed Grebe at Camas that appears to still be nesting -

Finally found some Ruddy Ducks with babies - the male was keeping an eye on his family in the background -

You can still find the American Bittern at Market Lake

The Osprey has been catching fish - these were taken on different days.

American Kestrel -

There's a spot I can usually find the Bald Eagles sitting

And just when you think you've seen it all - down the road at Camas I find some Gray Partridges - hadn't seen them there before.  Surprisingly - as little as they were the chicks could already fly.

My friend, Patty Pickett, had told me to watch for the Common Nighthawk up to Camas - so I cruised the trees and looked for them.  Once you spot them - laying flat on the bare branches - you notice just how MANY of them there are!!  Luckily I found a couple that were lower than most of them.

And the Trumpeter Swans are back at Market Lake - after being next to the road for many weeks they disappeared for awhile.  Nice to see them back.  The little ones got so big!!

And the beautiful Lazuli Bunting

And now for the other animals I've seen.  Painted Turtles -

 The Porcupine -

A Coyote

 And the White-tail Deer

Love this last shot - too bad the grass is so high you can barely see the fawn nursing.

And there you have it - LOTS & LOTS of photos!!!
Thanks for looking!
